This May, the BRANTU team has been a bumbling band of busy bees!

In the same week, we took part in two international events: the Sweden Day celebration by the Embassy of Sweden in Cairo, and FINNSTART; a startup event organized by the embassy of Finland.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Attended by a roster of Swedish and Swedish-based companies in Egypt including ABB, Baxter, Electrolux, Ericsson, IKEA, Newstag, Oriflame, Scania, SKF, Tetra Pak, Volvo, Absolut, Atlas Copco and Novelari; the Sweden Day event was especially exciting for our team, who had the opportunity to network with our industry peers and entice the interest of several attending personages with our story.

Our co-founders at our elprices Booth

Sweden Day Event

Our dynamic co-founders, Mohamed Rizk and Fredrik Granström, represented Brantu at the company booth alongside the marketing, operations and sales teams. Together, they introduced the attendees to elprices; our first e-commerce venture in the Middle Eastern market, which will be launching very soon.

Our Buzzing Team

Sweden Day Event

Our giveaways were a great hit, with the coasters and creative bullet journal doing the rounds faster than the waiters themselves! We were especially proud of our custom-made cubeecraft, which seemed to start conversations and entertain the guests in their personal corners.

The little guys got dressed in a rush that morning

We barely had time to get out of our suits and ties when the FINNSTART event started knocking at our door.

The event included financiers, incubators and industry experts from Finland and Egypt who gave brain-tickling talks on their individual experiences in the field, with a special session dedicated to highlight startup success stories.

Networking at FINNSTART

After all was said and done, we joined other startup founders and innovation leaders at the residence of the Finnish Ambassador, where we discussed the benefits of collaborating with established companies and the different ways we could use our resources to bridge the gap between our products and the market.

Looking back, May started off pretty strong for our brand, and our first in-house venture, elprices, received a lot of positive feedback and enthusiasm at both embassy events. This gave us a better perspective of where we stand in the market and about our potential as a growing venture-building company in the Middle East.

We wonder what the next two weeks will hold. May, bring it on!
